I frogged it.
I read everyone's comments, and they told me what I already knew - I really wouldn't be able to live with it.
and I decided (quite maturely, I thought!) that a good pair of socks is worth the extra effort of being done right!
it's only the heel and the foot, won't take that long I guess...

ultimately, thats the decider, whether you can live with it or not. its such gorgeous yarn, it is worth being happy with the end result. but yes. sigh.
I was going to say, you are a better knitter than I. But I am currently knitting a jumper that I have knit the entire body of, and frogged. TWICE. So let's just say that you are a far, far better sock knitter than I.
At any rate, knitting an extra foot and heel is worth it, if it saves a pair of socks from not being worn. It's like knitting a whole new pair of wearable socks, in the time it takes to knit a foot!
that's a really good analysis, Kate - I like it!
and yup, DrK - that's what it all comes down to, doesn't it? I'm not very precious with my knitting - I can live with the odd mistake, or slight mismatch etc, but I know my limits!!
