Transitional wear

Bravely moving on from the disappointment of Anais, I have cast on Rusted Root, from the Zephyr girls. A top-down raglan tee with puffy sleeves and a lace leaf panel placed asymmetrically on the front - very sweet!

I started with the leaf lace, but quickly switched to a "branch" lace, which I felt was more "me". I'm now halfway down the body, and am really most happy with my decision!

I have come to the conclusion that top-down raglans are my new thing! I love the fact that there is no seaming, and that I can try it on as I go.

For the first time, I'm using Heirloom Breeze, a cotton/wool/lycra blend (mainly cotton). I love the fabric it creates, but I'm finding keeping tension a challenge with the elastic thread running through the yarn. I'm hoping it will all settle down first wash. I'd be interested to hear from anyone else who has used this yarn recently, particularly, how did you find it after washing?
.
I've also joined a new group - Southern Summer of Socks! Rose Red and Bells have put this together, and it is shaping up to be a hill of fun! It starts on Oct 1, and memebership is still open, so head over if you're interested. I love knitting socks in Summer Down Under - it's the only thing I can handle in the heat!

Love that rusted root pattern (although not for me - I have the wrong body shape, unfortunately) - can't wait to see how it looks!

Rusted Root is such a cute pattern! Nice lace sub.

Have fun with your SSS KAL. (sorry, it takes me approx. 6 months to finish a pair of socks, so I'm not sock KAL material...guess I'm socktarded)

I've just joined SSS too - I may finish something yet :)
See you there!
