Jaywalker progress

I've completed the first of my Java Jaywalkers, and am half way through the second. It's been great mindless knitting, perfect at the moment. I really am enjoying the colourway's subtleties, which are hard to catch on camera. It comes out very purple/green, but it's really far more brown with plum, olive, blue and fawn.
.
I finished also Anais, in record time. It turns out that medallion I was a bit freaked out by? Not so hard, really! A little tricky to sew into place, but the actual knitting was very easy. The sad thing is that the piece as a whole is a terrible fit for me. I just don't think I was in the right frame of mind to be knitting a garment.
.

I had a sneaking suspicion it was too short all along, but plowed on regardless (I can be very stubborn, even with myself, and often to my own detriment!). Not only was it too short, it was quite a bit too wide, so it was a short boxy vest - lovely. I have no waist, no hips and no bust, so a wide, boxy vest in pale grey looks just lovely on me! It's currently residing in the ripping basket. Oh well, good therapy knit - I probably never would have worn it even if it had fit well - I knitted too much frustration into every stitch!

However, I am reminded daily that there are people much worse off than myself. It's time to pick myself up and get going...

I am grateful for all the support I have received, and thankful for my great network of friends, on and off line. I'm doing ok, and always believe that there is purpose and meaning in everything we encounter, even those experiences that seem overwhelming. So I am spending time in reflection and contemplation, trying to find the message hidden within, which I'm sure will make itself apparent when the timing is right...

Shame about Anais, but a bit of therapeutic ripping might come in handy.

Your Java Jaywalker is looking great - the colours work fabulously.

Your jaywalker looks wonderful, and Anais is pretty -- sorry it doesn't fit you well (and so sorry you're going through such tough times).

Jaywalkers are looking very fine. Sorry about the Anais. Ripping can feel very, very good!
