i heart these socks!

My Gingerbread Dude, made for my aunt, Loris. I can divulge the recipient now, because I told her they were on the way! I had originally intended to just mail them as a surprise, but we are going up to stay with her this weekend, and I was taught to always come bearing gifts when visiting.

I am nothing if not a pleasant house guest :)

I used Erica Alexander's "Web Socks" pattern, the "Blue" variation, and it's a particularly nice pattern to knit. I thought it was the subscriber's pattern from IK Winter 2005, and though I can find it on Ravelry, there seems to be no links left over on the Interweave site. Does anyone know what happened to all those subscriber projects with the invention of Knitting Daily?

The yarn coped reasonably well, with not too much pooling - only obvious sections were around the gusset, but I've seen worse. I've mentioned it before, but for those who don't know, it's gift yarn (Socks that Rock - Blue Moon Fiberarts) from Michelle, and it was a dream to work with, She did warn me that it was addictive, and hmmm, yes! There does seem to be a few skeins now lurking in my stash, not to mention my buying wish list!

Have an awesome International Womens' Day on Saturday March 8th. Remember those who forged the path for our (and future generations) rights, and the struggles still presented to women all over the world today. Move mountains, people, by lifting one rock at a time, all together.

I am woman, hear me roar...in numbers too great to ignore....

Longing for those cozy evenings when woolen socks are essential ingredient to a top night in. I'm done with this warm spell, roll on cool weather. I long to wear scarves and cardigans!

see you, g xx
