This week, message activity around the boards, and a couple of exciting email invites! have reminded me that Bendigo Sheep&Wool will be here before we know it - squeeeeeee!
which of course led me to.....Bendigo knitting!
What to make, what to make? Much planning and deliberation goes into this every year, and of course - each year the bar is raised higher and higher at the Ravelry breakfast!
As previously mentioned, this is the time of stash-diving (have to save my pennies for replenishing in July now!), so after checking out my Ravelry stash, I have settled on Tangled Yoke cardigan as my main work, using some lovely dark charcoal Gringasco Tango I picked up on clearance at my LYS.
I seriously love this yarn. It's a dark heathery charcoal gray, with flecks of lilac and violet and ochre. Yum.
I decided to take my measurements before casting on my usual 38" size, and much to my delight, I am now a 36" - thank you Roller Derby and training 3 times a week!!!
so knitting it up in time for Bendigo - along with a jumble of gift knitting that is making it's presence known - should be a breeze, right?! I mean, it's a whole 2" less the whole way up ;)
all these decisions made and lists written; it all feels so good!
Then I came home to find a sweet little package on my doorstep, courtesy of knitabulous. Our final installement of what has been a great yarn club - Indian Summer
Merino laceweight in "Mumbai Nights"
doesn't it just say "Featherweight cardigan" to you? I'm not sure there will be enough, but I'm working on the theory of slightly shorter sleeves and did I mention? a 36" chest. A-ha.

Oh how exciting!!! Can't wait to see your cardigans!!!
Wheeee - bet I know what the invites said ;)
Oh you and your shrinking bust!! I have no doubts that you will finish BOTH cardi's in time for Bendi!
ive seen a tangled yoke in that exact yarn i do believe, and it is GAWGUS! and snap on the featherweight. just not in that particular yarn. or in time for bendi either!! so, not really snap at all...
so great to knit a smaller size, isn't it
and I am so excited about bendi too - Bendigo knitting - I have such a list.....
It will make a lovely featherweight cardigan, and I think there is enough there if you keep the gauge loose.
I hope you get your Bendi on in time!
