success

Sophie, version 2, all knitted up and ready to go in the washing machine...

FYI, anyone out there wanting to substitute Patons Jet for this pattern, it takes just over 2 and a half balls of wool, hence the blue band at the top. I quite liked how it lessened the candy colours of the variegated colour too.

Anyway, without further ado...

Lovely felted bag. Another great yarn for felting is Jo Sharp DK Wool. I have knitted a box & it came out great after the felting. Thanks for your nice comment on my socks. Happy felting!

I can only concur with what everyone else said.
It's intriguing how it went from being bell shaped pre-felting to a true rectangle post-felting.

Looks great

The bag came up really well. I hadn't thought of using Patons Jet for felting... I think I might have a spare ball of that lying about somewhere. Interesting and disappointing to see that Lincraft Cosy is no longer any good for felting (I thought that was the only thing it was good for as I found it too rough for anything else). I used it last year with some success.
