second thoughts

I have almost finished the Phildar Swing Jacket...

All pieces are knitted and blocked, I need to now start sewing (not something I'm looking forward to...)

I started this jacket with all the enthusiasm in the world, but I have to say, as I near the end,

(I don't know if I still like it)

I think I have a bad case of that old knitters' remorse.
Nagging little thoughts keep popping up
.
(The sleeves seem just a little to short (and wide).)
.
(From the FO's I've seen on the blogs, well, that Peter Pan collar that looked so neat in the catalogue now seems a little twee.)
.
(and the seaming on of the collar looks like it's going to be a right royal pain in the a#%e.)
.

So, now that I've reached the end, it sits in my basket, waiting for me to love it again.

But, here in lies the rub:

If I don't finish it, I can't start something new!

I'll see how it looks made up, but there may be a size 10 charcoal jacket up for grabs!

I have faith that all will be happy making in the end. Good luck with the finishing!

(cue wise-sounding voice-over)
Don't judge the knit until it's done.

Seriously, you're just suffering near-completion anxiety. Sew it up.

Yeah, I think you've identified a Common Syndrome there.
Go on, finish it..I think you'll be pleasantly suprised

You probably won't be satisfied until you finish it (there'll always be a "maybe" in the back of your head!). Hope you find the love once it is finished!

I'm sure it will all come together in the end - it's just the dreaded thought of seaming... I always feel the same way too!

Sew! Sew! Sew!

I'm sure it will be great when it's done. And if not, there's always the big rip.

How frustrating. Think your discipline approach is the only way to get it finished. As it gets colder you might change your mind about it???

A swing jacket! Yikes! And to think I was blown away by your bed socks earlier. You are just far too clever with those needles and balls of yarn.
It's a loud "Bravo!" from me either way.
take care, g xo

(Thanks for swinging by our opening the other weekend... it was ace to see you.)
