I've been madly trying to finish some more handknits to wear this year (because what is Bendigo S&W show about if not being able to show off you knitting? oh, and shop til you drop!)
My hat went quickly - it's my Slouch for all Seasons which is a great, easy beret pattern. I used the remaining Bendigo Luxury 10ply from my Wallis.
I have also worked frantically on my armwarmers. I cast on 64sts using 2.25mm needles and some Wired for Fibre yarn from the stash, worked some ribbing, then knitted for about 20cm. I changed to 2.75mm needles and worked a bit more, then I increased 8sts and worked until I'd used up half the skein.
I love them. They are like detatched sleeves that can be scrunched around the wrist, pulled down over fingers and thumbs, or worn fully extended, exactly like..well, a sleeve!
Now all I need to do is finish the other one. I forsee a late night Friday night if these babies are to become a pair. Lucky it'll probably be mandatory to bring your knitting to the Shamrock for the pre-Bendigo dinner!
