The Show

Our holiday is drawing to an end, sadly. It will be hard to say goodbye to lazy mornings, beach walks and general sloth...

There's been knitting but not as much as I anticipated - ain't it always the way? I'll share more on that next post, at the moment I'm working from my phone and it's not ideal, so just a quick post this week!

Despite massive overnight storms and decidedly inclement-looking weather, yesterday we drive up from Phillip Island to go to The Royal Melbourne Show (300 km round trip!)

Thankfully, the weather cleared as we got closer, and managed to hold off rain the whole time we were there. The crowds were diminished, probably in part due to the weather, but also being the second last day, maybe? Whatever the reason, I was glad!

We got showbag bargains (lots of two for one deals, and reduced prices etc), then I got forced into a terrifying ride experience by.the teenager. Still shaking.

We also went into the Clydesdales pavillion and watched them getting ready for their competitions; had a great time in the animal nursery (again, uncrowded); checked out the Craft Pavilion and all the food and wares booths.

In short, awesome day!

So glad you go to the crafts area...we almost got there. I wanted to visit your tea cosy. But after the rides, first show bags, the animals and a good old fashioned grifting experience, the wee ones lost it within site of the craft pavilion. Needless to say we left...quickly! Excellent pics...did you see your cosy?

I loved the craft displays this year, they seemed to be really stepping it up again.

Ha, I never went on those stomach churning rides as a teenager, let alone now! I do love going to the show. Hope you ate lots of bad food on a stick. Mmmm deep fried goodness!
