Berrocco only ships to U.S. and Canada (naturally), so any suggestions on how we going to get our hands on it?
.
I'm lusting after some of the scarves and there's the skirt, worn as a dress, under a long jacket..........sorry, had to discreetly wipe the drool from my mouth.
I have to admit I have been slow to catch the Gaughan bug. There was only one or two things in Knitting Nature that caught my eye, but I detest cables, so I'm not really a good indication of the books appeal, I guess.
These pieces seem to be of a finer gauge too, which has more appeal to me - less bulk, more drape and flow to the finish piece.
In other knitting news, I have finished my Nocturnal Monkey socks for my Aunt - they are in the post as we speak! (I promised you'd have them for winter, Loris!)
Very happy with how they finished up, and I hope the recipient enjoys them.
After my flurry on socks (3 pairs in 3 months, and for those who know my history, it's a record!), I think it's enough sock knitting for a while. As much as my recent sock yarn purchases are calling me, I believe it may be time to concentrate on some larger works.
After much deliberation, I think I'm going with the ruffle edge cardigan I've posted about previously, using my red 5ply Bendigo wool.
Now, please excuse me, I have to go transfer a few items from my "on the needles" list, to my "finished objects" list!

Can't wait to see the ruffle edge cardigan in red. I've noticed a lot of these newer Norah Gaughan photos around. I'll admit I also was never really attracted to the other stuff, but some of these pieces are calling to me.
Oooh I do like the look of those Norah Gaughan things. Interesting shapes!
I ordered some Berrocco patterns from Keliedoscope yarns from the US over the net. Great service and quick postage. Give them a try.
ooh, I like the dress in the second picture. your socks look great!
thanks for the tip, Rachael - I'll check it out!
Ahhh my fingers would not coordinate to type!! Love the Monkey socks, 3 in 3 months is great going!!!
I ordered some Berroco yarn from handknitting.com a couple of weeks ago. Laurel is very helpful, great quick service and speedy delivery to Sydney, Aus. They'll special order in patterns. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice, Bronwyn! How's yoiur Phildar Swing coming along?
Nora Gaughan's designs are fabulous - just wish her pattern writing was better, but with that said, I'm about to being the Hex Coat. Just waiting for the yarn to arrive.
Kgirl - have you started Ram's Horn yet? Thanks for your lovely comment too.
Cheers...
Your monkey socks look great! BTW, if you would like me to send you anything from the States, just let me know. We're still here for another 12 weeks (and counting)!
hello! can you please email me
justine (at) 62cherry(dot) com
I want to ask you something about our new zine ;)
I've almost finished the Phildar swing. I blocked and sewed it up before I finish the 2nd sleeve to check it fits and looks okay. It looks good so far, fits and have steam pressed it flat to look like flannel fabric! Am lining collar rather than use binding. Will do a full update on the KAL very soon.
How's yours going?
oh god, you have such nimble fingers, those socks are delicious!
I've tried a few places to get those Gaughan patterns - no luck (in fact, no response at all) - so I'll give rachael's tip a go. Love the socks!
Oh, yes... lusting over those Norah Gaughan scarves and other knitty gems too. I'd happily wrap myself up in one or all of those if only I could knit. It's unlikely I'll come across a pattern and the like in my travels, but should I stumble across the ways and means I'll let you know.
Great socks too, of course.
see you, g xo
P.S. Louise would have said the very same thing too... damn that blogger sign in... a slip and click of the mouse and my comment was hurtling your direction with the wrong name attached.
Must fling another scarf around the neck - it's freezing!

Oh yes I checked out the new Gaughans via knitdevil last week: I really like the accessories.
Looks like we might have to take rachael up on her hot tip for shipping.
Thanks Rachael!
Hi, Take a look at http://www.jimmybeanswool.com/ they are great. Can´t wait to have the book.
They've arrived! Those beautiful 'nocturnal' socks to keep my toes warm in chilly Creswick. Just in time for me to wear them to my scary seminar presentation on Friday. Think of me at 2.30 - and I will think of my beautifully clad feet, my clever, talented niece AND Queta Mary - when doubt or fear assails me!
Glad to hear they arrived (and they fit!), Loris. I'll be sending you good thoughts at 2.30 this Friday!
lots of love
k ox
My God, that book is GORGEOUS.
I feel an acquisitive fury coming on...
