I decided to leave the ribbon (or any alternatives) off, and just used a hook and eye clasp at the neckline, a decision I'm very happy with. I just don't think I would have worn the floppy bow well.
I embroidered little red leaves onto some grey wool flannel I had, and made fabric-covered buttons to finish it off.
It took just over 2 balls (200g) of Bendigo Classic 5ply, on 3.75mm addi circulars, so not only was it a most enjoyable knit, it was also quite an economical little knit!
just perfect for early Spring in Melbourne!
