Spring is sprung (almost)

these followed me home the other day, and I was promised, if I was good, that I could keep them!
Loudon Wainwright III (father of Rufus and Martha), Belle & Sebastian, and (more) Lucinda Williams. Pleasure for my ears....

The Java Jaywalkers are speeding along, with #1 almost complete. Still loving them.

Last night I started to look around as to what to cast on next, and being that Spring is upon us in the Southern hemisphere, I wanted something lighter, something I can wear as soon as I finish it, rather than having to wait 6 months for cooler weather to come again.

Anais - Nora Gaughan for Berrocco
This jumped out, and I cast on using my Bendigo Colonial 8ply in Silver. I hadn't realised, but there is a fine darker wisp running through the pale grey of this shade. It gives the wool a very subtle mottled look when knitted up, something I'm sure will give a nice depth to the finished piece.

The medallion in the front centre of the neckline is scaring the bejesus out of me, so I started on the back and will work my way up to it! Seems to be a pretty straight forward little knit apart from that though...

While we're on the topic of new projects, has everyone got their latest edition of Interweave Knits yet??

Here's my short list (short? who are we kidding? it grows daily and there is now no light visible from under it, it's such a weighty tome!)

I'll even put aside my dislike of cables for that twisted cable cardigan of Eunny Jang's - nice rich chocolate, I think, for that one. As usual, Kate Gilbert also never fails to deliver. Linen stitch cuffs and hem, and enough detail in the neckline to keep one interested without being fussy. I always like the construction of her patterns...

Cinnabar - Kate Gilbert

Tangled Yoke Cardigan - Eunny Jang

ahh - happy knitting lists!

Great minds think alike! I've just started on the vest and swatched for the tangled yoke!! Your vest is looking lovely in the grey. I noticed that Rufus is touring. I wonder if that would be a good show. Have you heard Lisa Miller's latest album? All original songs and just lovely. Hope you get a chance to enjoy the sun today.

And that medallion is intimidating me just looking at it
