100

My 100th post!

(and thankfully, the 21stC internet connection speed has been restored!)

Lots have been happening around here since I last posted.

Christmas tree went up. Lily did it all herself, again. Great job, kiddo!

Rusted Root was finished.

I love the finished Rusted Root (although I cringe at the name every time). I modified the leaf lace panel from the original pattern and used a branching lace lace instead, suits me much better. I also didn't pick up and knit the ribbing at the neckline - I like how the stocking stitch rolls slightly and the neckline was exactly where I wanted it as it was, so I left well enough alone.

Being a wool/cotton blend, however, it is a little warm for even a Melbourne summer, so I think it will be tucked away 'til Autumn...

...and I may have a new job to start the new year, shhh! More will be known soon, but suffice to say, 9 years in retail hell is enough!

all in all, it's been a pretty exciting week. Great way to start December, really!

Oooh, must put up my x-mas tree!
I agree that "rusted root" is a pretty awful name. The sweater looks great though!
Jealous of your weather - it snowed here this morning!

Congrats on 100 posts, and the possible new job (how exciting!). Your top looks great, I agree both about the name and the neckline!

Tree looks really lovely.
Top looks perfect (also agree about neck, name and lace mods).

lovely sweater. melbourne summers. i was always so fascinated as a child that it would be summer in melbourne when winter here. my mother was after all born in melbourne, australia, from danish parents in 1926. strange strange story.
and about the reindeer. a real stuffed reindeer. so swedish.

Lovely tree, and lovely knitting! I made the 'Rusted Root' top last year, and really loved the pattern- but yes, the name is pretty cringeworthy.
