humble gratitude

You may remember my recent rave over a certain Berrocco booklet recently, the one featuring all the amazing deconstructed garments designed by Norah Gaughan?

if so, you may also recall that Berrocco will only post to US and Canada, and I couldn't seem to find this particular booklet on other sites suggested by kind bloggers?

Just when I thought it might become one of my obsessive (read: expensive) ventures, an online friend dropped a little ray of sunshin-y hope...

look what arrived all the way from Albuquerque* today:

Not only did this lovely blogger go out of her way to help me, I got a surprise when I opened the parcel to find my booklet and a beautiful, beautiful skein of Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn in "Indian Summer".

I am overwhelmed - thank you, Rebecca.

Nowhere else in my life at the moment do I encounter the kind of support and generosity of spirit that I find through the connections made via my blog, and it has been a greatly positive experience.

I have never really posted about why I started blogging, and now's not the time to go into it all, but suffice to say it was suggested as an outlet during a particularly bleak time in my life. I don't think I'd really comprehended the impact this community would have on me - so all I can say is:

I wish the whole world could interact like bloggers do...

Rebecca, I can't wait to meet you when you get back to Australia, so I can thank you all over again in person (and introduce you to a few of the lovely wool suppliers here!).

* Is it just me, or does anyone else think "Bugs Bunny" when they hear the word "Albuquerque"?

You are very welcome! Your blog has been great reading while I've been here in Albuquerque - reminds me of home! And I'm so excited that there is a whole new knitting community back in Oz that I will get to experience when I return!

By the way, we were the same with Bugs Bunny. We didn't even know it was an actual place until we moved here!

That's so awesome. Knitters (and knit bloggers) rock :)

That's awesome! Knitters are the most giving, generous people on the planet. But we already knew that.

And yes, I second (third? fourth? fifth?) the Bugs Bunny reference.
