kindness

Thank you everyone, for your kind enquiries on Lucy - we are pleased to report she has recovered with remarkable alacrity, and is presently back to her lovely, chirpy wheeking little self.

And thanks to the generosity of the beautiful people in my life, the Bendigo trip is still on! One offer of assistance came in the form of accommodation (bless) and there has been little bits of cash surreptitiously slipped into my pockets by darling friends and family (just pop that in your pocket and buy yourself something little at the Show). Dear lordy, people are lovely, aren't they? I will be reciprocating in knitted love, I promise :)

so of course, now the trip was locked in, I had to make something new to wear - it's
tradition!

My
Wallis (Rav link)

I didn't use the lace chart as I found it too confusing, so my version is all stocking stitch. I used my Bendigo Mills "Luxury 10ply" in Black and it took just over 3 balls. I'm making a beret to go with it using the last of the 4th ball. One thing I'm really happy about is (given the amount now in my stash!),10ply knits up so quickly - it's great! This took me just 15 days to knit, gotta love that.

I'm not yet sure if I *love* it or just like it, but I'm sure it's going to keep me warm and snug. The "sleeves" are very batwing-y and don't seem to sit as effortlessly as they do in the Rowan catalogue (hmm, there's a shock!) It's also nearly impossible to take a self-portrait of oneself in a black top - did you know?!

These were the best I could do, you'll just have to use your imagination, I'm sorry. You do get some rather nice shots of my new glasses, though - I hadn't had my eyes tested in 7 years and was positively shocked at how much clearer the world was with a new prescription!

now I'm off to raid the sock yarn stash - I think I need some arm warmers to take to Bendigo too.

and my Skull wellies are definitely in for the trip too, for those who have asked :)

Your sweater looks great and it should keep you toasty warm. It has been absolutely freezing this week hasnt it so I hope it isnt too cold up at Bendigo.

Oh, wellies. Good idea! Bummer they take up so much space in the suitcase. I guess I could shove yarn in them on the way home...

Gosh you are the most adorable blogger ever! I love these photos of you! And yes, armwarmers. With skulls on?

Your Wallis looks lovely ;) I'm sure it looks much nicer in person - dark colours are difficult to photgraph aren't they!

Give Lucy a pat from me ;)
